A legacy given to the Friends to entertain since 1987
A love of music and South Canterbury has led Mr Stephen Newman and Mrs Betty Manning to give a new grand piano to the Friends of Aigantighe. Mr Newmand of Newman's Piano Ltd, and business partner Mrs Betty Manning decided on the gift when they learned that the gallery was without a piano. The new Yamaha instrument has a replacement value of $15,000. Mrs Helen McIver, president of the Friends of Aigantighe Art Gallery Inc, yesterday described the gift as magnificent.
