House Gallery restoration

The Friends of the Aigantighe has pledged $25,000 from funds donated over recent years to help fund the seismic strengthening and restoration of the 116-year old Heritage House Gallery and associated improvements. This matches a pledge recently made by the Timaru Civic Trust adding to the growing community support for the project.

As a registered charity, the Friends are able to apply for and receive community funding and donations.

It is fantastic we can support the Heritage House Gallery and bring it up to its former glory and exciting to see preparations well underway and a great future for the house is assured.

It's even more exciting to know we will be walking through again, seeing it and our precious art even better cared for in our unique gallery and visiting will be better than ever before.

Aigantighe House is probably the biggest and most important artwork in our collection, and it’s fitting the Friends will play a role in helping bring it back to life.

Work on the estimated $3 – $3.3m Heritage House Gallery project is currently underway..
